Stuart Randall Carswell, Jr

Stuart Randall Carswell, 90, of Keene, passed away on Tuesday January 14, 2025. Born on August 5, 1934, he was the son of the late Stuart and Priscilla (Kellogg) Carswell. In 1957, he graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Gettysburg College and was a member of Phi Gamma Delta. After college, he honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps and captained the US Marine Corps Rugy Team in the U.K in the 1950’s. Stu was Personnel Director at Blue Cross Blue Shield in Boston, and at Digital Equipment Corporation and Ogden-Allied Services. Later, he and Marie owned The Griffin Country Lodge in Stowe, Vermont. He was an avid sportsman and continued playing rugby for Beacon Hill Rugby Club in Boston into the 1980s. He enjoyed swimming, sailing, and skiing, and was an accomplished darts player and marksman.
