Obituary

Sally Allen, age 83, died peacefully on October 9, 2026 after a long battle with Alzheimer's at Covenant Health Care-Keene. Sally was born October 7, 1943, in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Sally's professional passion was teaching. Sally earned a B.S. from Springfield College in 1967 and a Master of Education from Keene State College in 1980. In the 1970's Sally directed Jimmy Cricket Nursery School. During the 1980's Sally taught at St. Joseph Elementary School in Keene and John D. Perkins Elementary School in Marlow. During the 1990's Sally completed her career teaching at Charlestown Primary School.

A quiet person, Sally loved long walks with her cocker spaniels, gardening, reading, and leading Age-In-Motion classes. Sally and Bill shared a lifelong love of travel and visited six continents. Family and grandchildren were Sally's priority: She delighted supporting their activities and time with them.

Sally and her husband Bill "Rusty" Allen celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary on September 4th. They raised two children: Scott Ansevin-Allen (Andrea) and Heidi Silver (Justin). Sally is survived by her sister Shirly. Her grandchildren: Cutler, Greyson and Madelina Ansevin-Allen and Meghan, Jillian and Matthew Gregorski. Her siblings Janice, Eunice and Joe and her parents Bill and Evelyn Shaw predeceased Sally.

Sally's devotion to education influenced her family deeply. Scott and Heidi pursued careers in education, a testament to the values their mother taught, modeled, and lived.

In keeping with her lifelong devotion to education, Sally's remains have been donated to the Geisel Medical School at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH to support medical education.

Bill, Scott, Andrea, Heidi, Justin and Grandchildren welcome family, friends, and colleagues to join them for visitation from 2:00-4:00pm on Sunday, November 1st. Celebration will take place at 3:00pm at Covenant Senior Living Community, 95 Wyman Rd Keene, NH. on the 2nd floor in the PAC Auditorium. In lieu of flowers, memorials gifts are welcome to the Covenant Staff Appreciation Program.
