Obituary

Ronald "Ronnie" Francis Bedaw, 82, a lifelong resident of Winchester and Swanzey, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 13, 2026, with the love of family by his side at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon.

He was born a son to the late Elizabeth (Royea) Hill and William Bedaw on September 25, 1943, in Keene.

Ronnie was the proud owner of Ronnie's Truck Service in Winchester since 1972. He started out his lifetime career in auto mechanics in his teen years. While working a full time job he also began repairing motorcycles in his spare time and he built his own custom Harley Davidson, all in the barn attached to the family home on Richmond Street. In 1972, he built Ronnie's Truck Service in the field next door. He also was proud of his association with Thayer High School's Apprenticeship Program during the 1980's. He mentored a number of young folks and shared his vast knowledge of auto mechanics. He always said he wanted to make 50 years of being in business for himself. He did that and a few more, finally retiring in the winter of 2025.

On September 25, 1977, Ronald exchanged vows with the love of his life, Ann Elizabeth Vining. They had a simple ceremony in Winchester with family and friends celebrating them.

Ronnie was a hard worker and a man of many hats, known for his strong work ethic and determination. He took great pride in teaching his children those same values. When he found time to travel, he and Ann's special place was Horseneck Beach State Campground in Westport, Massachusetts and the Scusset Beach Campground along the Cape Cod Canal. During his time at Scusset Beach, he thoroughly enjoyed watch the boats come and go and would spend time talking with the fishermen along the pier. They also enjoyed memorable cruises to Jamaica, Aruba, The Panama Canal, and the Cayman Islands, along with many weekend adventures. He was a proud member of the New Hampshire Motorcycle Riders Association, a community that reflected his love of the open road and the friendships he built along the way.

Mr. Bedaw is survived by his wife of 48 years, Ann E. Bedaw of Swanzey, their children, Coleen Birmingham of Swanzey, J. Eric Hood and significant other, Kelly Clow of Marlborough, Trevor Hood of Swanzey, and Jarrett Hood and his wife, Terri of Marlborough. He is also survived by siblings Susan, Mark, Tammy, Joey, Barbara, and Nancy, his grandchildren, Clarice, Jeffrey, Jacob, Lukas, Isiah, Logan, and Cameron, and his great-grandchildren, Cora, Gabriel, and Ryder, along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Ronnie is also survived by his special pup, Willie. Ronnie is predeceased by his parents.

In keeping with Ronnie's wishes, there will be no formal services. A Celebration of Life will be announced soon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
