Pauline L. Pollock 96, a longtime resident of Keene passed away on July 11, 2026. She passed peacefully in the familiar surroundings of her home with the love of her family near after a very short period of declining health.
Pauline was born on February 2, 1930, in New Castle, PA. The only child of Victor and Lydia (Matson) Santala. As a young girl the family moved to Harrisville, NH. As her parents only spoke their native language of Finnish, Pauline learned the English language when she started school. She went on to graduate from Peterborough High School, class of 1948.
On August 26, 1951, Pauline exchanged vows with Wendell Pollock at the First Congregational Church of Peterborough. They were married with family and friends in attendance and celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary just prior to Wendell's passing in 2021.
They moved to Keene in 1953 for Wendell's new position as of fice manager for Bobbin and Shuttle Company. Pauline found an of fice position with Kingsbury Machine until the birth of their first daughter and then she enjoyed many years being at home raising her family. She returned to the work force as the office manager for Keene's MLS of fice, A multiple listings service for real estate brokers. Retiring from that role in 1988.
She and Wendell enjoyed dancing and joined the Monadnock Squares Club of Keene. Dancing provided them the opportunity to make many new and lifelong friends. They were active members of the club and traveled throughout New England to attend dances. She was an avid collector of antique bottles and spent many hours in the woods looking for cellar holes to excavate bottles for her large collection. They looked forward to wintering in Daytona Beach Shores, FL, which they enjoyed doing for 30 years.
Mrs. Pollock is survived by her children and their spouses: Brenda McCormack and her husband, Steven; Nancy Watkins and her husband Geary and Brian Pollock all of Keene. Three grandchildren: Casey McCormack, Meghan
Dubriske and Molly McCormack. Two great grandchildren: Carson Dubriske and Lacey Dubriske. Pauline is predeceased by her husband Wendell and her daughter Bonnie Pollock.
In keeping with Pauline's wishes there were no calling hours. A private graveside service was held in the family lot at Monadnock View Cemetery, Park Ave. Keene, NH. Donations may be made in memory of Bonnie L. Pollock to: Cedarcrest Center for Children with Disabilities, 91 Maple Ave. Keene, NH. 03431.
