Madalyn "Maddy" Kelly Jalava, 24, of Troy, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 while at home. Born in Keene, NH on April 7, 2001, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Philip Jalava and Kelly J. (Dinagan) Lawrence.
Maddy grew up in Troy and graduated from Monadnock Regional High School. She had a true passion for helping others and worked as an LNA in the Women and Children's Health Unit at Cheshire Medical Center. She was excited to take the next step in her journey, having recently been accepted into the nursing program at River Valley Community College.
Maddy loved spending time with her nieces and nephews, gathering for family cookouts, gardening, hiking with her dog, and treasured rides in the Jeep with her Dad and friends. In recent years, she discovered a love for reading and had a passion for learning as she pursued the career she cared so much about.
She is survived by her sisters Lacey Jalava and her partner Lawrence Alley, Ariana Kelley; nieces and nephews Audrey, Waylon, Emery, Addisyn, Westyn, Paislee, Layne; paternal grandparents Philip and Dorothy "Janice" (Mattson) Jalava; and many loving aunts, uncles, and friends. She is predeceased by her parents Benjamin Philip Jalava and Kelly J. (Dinagan) Lawrence, and maternal grandparents Francis and Deb Dinagan.
A visitation will be held from 4:00PM to 8:00PM on Friday, April 17, 2026, at Cheshire Family Funeral Chapel, 44 Maple Ave, Keene NH.
