John Ainsworth

John "Jack" Ainsworth 74, of Winchester, passed away on Friday, March 6th, after a more than year-long battle with brain cancer. He was born in Lowell, MA, on September 11th, 1951, to Maureen (Hurley) and George Ainsworth.

Jack was the second of their five children, and the family eventually moved to Greenfield, MA, where Jack graduated high school. During high school, Jack played for both the school football and hockey teams. He attended Greenfield Community College, where he met the love of his life, Keron Christopherson, of Keene, NH. They were married on September 27, 1973, in Keene. Jack then attended UMass Amherst, earning a degree in Psychology.

Following his graduation from UMass, Jack started working with his father at Vermont Yankee. He spent 40 years with the company and was a Senior Training Instructor at the time of his retirement. Jack and Keron settled in Winchester, NH, where they raised their two sons, Christopher and Patrick.

Jack was an active member of the community, serving as the Welfare Officer, Cub & Boy Scout Leader, coached youth sports, and was Director of ELM Community Center. He had many hobbies over the years, from woodworking, hiking, kayaking, biking, cooking, and reading.

He leaves behind sons Chris (Liz) and Patrick (Lesley); grandchildren Ryan, Hannah, Isaac, Nina, Scarlett, Caleb, and Emma; his sister Maureen; many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his sister Jill, brothers George Jr. and Paul, his wife Keron, and brother-in-law Derek.

Per Jacks wishes, there will be no public service.
