Obituary

James (Jim) G. Brisson, 77 of Keene, died October 2nd, following a brief illness. He was born August 14,1949 in Providence, RI to Gene and Jean (McLaughlin)Brisson. He attended LaSalle Academy in Providence graduating in 1967. Following high school, he enlisted in the US Army National Guard, where he was a welder, medical specialist and received sharpshooter commendations and was honorably discharged in 1977.

During his working career, he worked locally for several different police departments eventually landing in the Cheshire County Sheriff’s department as a deputy. One of his favorite memories was greeting President Bill Clinton at the Dillant-Hopkins Airport when he visited in 1992. After retiring from the sheriff’s department in 1997, he briefly operated a diner in Westmoreland before working for several years at Servpro.

In 1993, he met the love of his life, Priscilla and they were married for 32 years. Together they enjoyed traveling and visiting his family in Rhode Island and watching their grandchildren grow up.

In 2012, he successfully received a heart transplant and because of that families’ generosity, he became a donor himself.

Jim is survived by his wife, Priscilla, of Keene, his sister and brother-in-law Paula and Jack McQuillan, his niece Jessica Schofield, his 5 step-grandchildren and his aunts, uncles and cousins in Rhode Island.

He was predeceased by his father, Gene, mother, Jean Lane and stepfather Tom Lane.
