Howard Ernest Hamlin, 90, of Keene, passed away on Wednesday, July 9th, surrounded by
his loving family. Born on August 26, 1934, in Keene, he was the son of the late Howard and
Josephine (Wilson) Hamlin.
A lifelong resident of Keene, Howard graduated from Keene High School in 1954. He worked as
a real estate agent throughout southern New Hampshire for 25 years before transitioning into a
management role with Sears, Roebuck & Co., where he remained for 16 years until his
retirement.
A devoted Christian and longtime parishioner of Grace Evangelical Free Church, Howard was
deeply committed to his faith. He taught Sunday school at various churches and led Bible
studies at local nursing homes. For more than 30 years, he offered spiritual counseling to
members of the community and regularly read scripture with inmates at local prisons.
In his free time, Howard enjoyed watching classic Western movies, listening to music, and
spending time outdoors surrounded by nature. Known for his joyful spirit, he loved making
people smile and always had a story to share.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Carol (Duhaime) Hamlin; his daughter, Deborah A.
Booth and her husband Dana of Manchester, NH; his cherished grandchildren, Olivia Booth and
Sarah Booth; and his beloved great-grandson, Daniel Booth. In addition to his parents, he was
predeceased by his sisters, Shirley Cross and Dorothy Mitchell, and his brother, Robert Hamlin.
A burial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at Friedsam Cemetery,
Route 63, Chesterfield, NH. GPS coordinates to the cemetery are: 42°53'37.7"N
