Frederic K. Donohoe, 83, a resident of Keene and formally of Westmoreland, passed away quietly while sleeping on Monday, September 8, 2025, with his loving wife by his side at Langdon Place of Keene.
He was born a son to the late Clara E. (Vogel) and Charles K. Donohoe on February 21, 1942, in Boston, MA. He was educated locally and graduated from Keene High School, class of 1960.
On November 8, 1975, Frederic exchanged vows with Charlene M. Martinez. They had a simple ceremony at The United Church of Christ with the love of family and friends celebrating them.
Frederic enjoyed his time working for Markem as one of their International Service Managers for 30+ years until he retired in 1998. Frederic and Charlene were also the proud owners of Homestead Kennels in Swanzey.
Frederic was most proud of his handy work making lanterns and even created his own business called Great Meadows Trading Company. During this time, he was very active with Living History Reenactments in New England and surrounding states. In his younger years he was a volunteer for Monadnock United Way, enjoying Trap-shoot at the Cushing Riffle Range, and State-shoots. Frederic loved that he was able to travel internationally with his job but mostly loved to travel with Charlene and friends.
Mr. Donohoe is survived by his wife, Charlene M. Donohoe (Martinez), their daughter, Susan L. Ellsworth (Donohoe) and husband Scott P. Ellsworth, grandson Colin P. Ellsworth, niece Misty Martinez-Bohannon and husband, Bo Bohannon, and great niece, Abby Bohannon. Along with many other family and friends. Frederic was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Susan Donohoe.
A celebration of life will be held at 10:00am on Monday, September 15, 2025, at the Cheshire Family Funeral Chapel, 44 Maple Ave. Keene, NH. 03431. With a burial to follow in the family lot at the East Westmoreland Cemetery 1089-1105 NH-12, Westmoreland, NH. 03467. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations may be made to the Home Healthcare, Hospice, and Community Service 312 Marlboro St. Keene, NH. 03431. All services are under the care of Cheshire Family Funeral Home, Chapel, and Crematories.
