David F. Smith of Keene, NH, passed peacefully with family by his side after a period of declining health. He leaves behind his loving wife of 53 years, Lisa (Navish) Smith, daughter, Melissa, and son and daughter-in-law, Mitchell and Dawn, and treasured granddaughters and their partners, Courtney Farnsworth and husband Mike, Ashlyn Smith and fiance Dominic, and Kayla Smith and boyfriend Gaige, and beloved dog, Bella.

Those who were lucky to have met David know he was a friend to many and loyal to those he loved and cared about. He ran his own logging business for many years, Smith Trucking, and loved fishing, hunting, and Harley Davidson motorcycle trips with family and friends. Later in life he enjoyed meeting friends at Dunkins and was grateful for the support of his dialysis care team and fellow patients who loved him and called him ‘governor’.

He is predeceased by his parents Robert and Delores Smith, was one of 12 children, and has a large extended family with siblings, siblings-in-laws, nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.

A celebration of life is being planned for October.
