Darlene Jean Youtsey, 69, of Gilsum, passed away peacefully after a 4-year courageous battle with breast cancer on Thursday, September 18, 2025. Born in Keene, NH on August 12, 1956, she was the daughter of the late James and Violet (Corey) Frint.
Darlene grew up in Gilsum and attended Monadnock Regional High School. For several years, she worked for Sprague & Carleton Furniture Company and Smith Medical, then was employed for over 20 years at Mountain Corporation until she decided to open her own cleaning business. At the age of 14, she met Dana Youtsey and they married 2 years later. In their younger years, they played in the drum corps together and in their later years opened and ran their own business Danas Hotdog Wagon together until his passing in 2020.
Devoted to her faith, Darlene would regularly attend services every Sunday at Village Church in Swanzey. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, making crafts and baking for family and friends, and would always bring her signature Mexican dip dish to every event.
She is survived by her daughter Deanna Youtsey; son Nicholas Youtsey and wife Mallory; sisters Lorna Willard and husband Bob, Shirley McCord and husband Bryan; grandchildren Wyatt Whitney, and Madalynn Youtsey; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband of 47 years Dana Youtsey.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, September 25 from 6PM to 8PM at Cheshire Family Funeral Home, 44 Maple Ave, Keene, NH. A burial will take place on Friday, September 26 at 11AM at Oak Hill Cemetery, Pine St, West Swanzey, NH.
