Obituary

Cynthia I. R. (Raitto) Rose, 79, of Swanzey NH, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2026, at her home. Her parents, Donald and Milja (Annala) Raitto Sr, welcomed their daughter into the world on February 6, 1947, in Troy, NH.

Cindy grew up in Troy, went to Troy schools, and graduated from Monadnock Regional High School in 1964. On February 27, 1965, Cindy married her great love and soulmate, David A. Rose, Sr and would have been married for 61 years.

Cindy loved spending time with her large extended family which included yearly family reunions on the Cape. She loved the ocean and the mountains, especially Mt. Monadnock. She also loved camping, traveling the country, yearly trips to Florida and going on cruises to various islands. Cindy had a great sense of humor and, always one to have a good time, never passed up a party and often was the life of the party.

In the early years of Monadnock Speedway, Cindy was a timekeeper/scorer. She was also a member of a lady's bowling league and a Girl Scout Troop Leader. When her children were young, Cindy worked part-time at Montgomery Ward so she could see them off to school and be there when they got home. Later, she was the Deputy Tax Collector in Swanzey for many years.

Cindy was known for her love of family and kindness and was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, GG, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend; and will be dearly missed by so many.

She is survived by her husband Dave, daughter Jill Wright and husband David of Swanzey, NH, son David Rose Jr and partner Renne Clow of Peterborough, NH; two grandsons, Alexander Rose and wife Kristy of Keene, NH and Zachary Rose of Keene, NH; great-granddaughter Rory Anne Rose; sister Jane Hienkle and husband Donald of Keene, NH; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Her parents Donald (Sr) and Milja Raitto; three sisters, Marie Kiblin, Ann Roberts and Ellen Pratt and two brothers, Alvin Raitto and Donald Raitto Jr, predeceased her.

Cindy's family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Lacey Stack for her compassionate care of Cindy during her final months. Lacey's kindness and dedication brought comfort and joy to Cindy, and her support to the family was invaluable. The family is deeply appreciative of the love and care Lacey provided.
