Charles J.
Shaw III
d. Jun 14, 2026
Charles J. Shaw III, 72, of Marlborough, passed away suddenly at his home on June 14, 2026.
Born on December 10, 1953, in Worcester, Massachusetts, Charlie was the son of the late Charles L. Shaw Jr. and Ann (Garbutt) Shaw.
Charles spent much of his working life as a self-employed carpenter, taking great pride in his craftsmanship and the satisfaction of building with his hands. He had a deep appreciation for working with wood, often creating beautiful pieces for friends and family. In recent years, he had begun learning the art of chainsaw carving, embracing the challenge with the same enthusiasm he brought to all of life’s projects.
An avid outdoorsman, Charles loved hunting, especially bear and deer. He was also a familiar and respected figure on local baseball fields, where he spent many years coaching Little League and helping young players develop both their skills and confidence.
Above all else, Charles loved his family. His greatest joy came from the time spent with those he cherished most, creating memories that will be treasured for years to come.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy (Bauer) Shaw; his daughter, Laura Miles and her husband Tim, and their children Isla and Calum; his son, Mike Shaw and his wife Jennifer, and his grandchildren Morgan, Sophie, and Harrison; and his son, Dan Shaw and his wife Cate, and their children Jackson and Elizabeth.
In addition to his parents, Charles was predeceased by his brother, Stephen Shaw, and his sisters, Pamela Shaw and Kimberly Shaw.
Charles will be remembered for his strong work ethic, generous spirit, steady presence, and unwavering devotion to his friends and family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
