Obituary

Brian Joseph Bazarnicki Sr., 67, of Gilsum, New Hampshire, passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2026, surrounded by his family.

Born on March 19, 1959, in Garfield, New Jersey, to the late Julian and Evelyn (Nieradka) Bazarnicki, Brian carried with him throughout his life the values instilled by his family, finding great meaning in the people he loved, the community he served, and the many interests that brought him joy.

Brian was the beloved husband of Andrea Joan (Wagner) Bazarnicki and a devoted father to his three sons. His family was at the center of his life, and he cherished the time spent with them, as well as with the many friends who became an important part of his extended family.

A proud Navy veteran, Brian carried a deep sense of pride in his 25-year service to his country. His commitment to serving others continued throughout his life. After retirement, he worked for Home Depot, Keene, for 20 years and became a local business owner. He was a member of the Nashua Coin Club, served his community as a Gilsum Selectman and he was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Keene. He was also a lector at St. Bernard’s Church in Keene, where his faith and willingness to serve others were reflected in his involvement with his parish community.

Brian had a genuine curiosity about the world around him and a deep love for history. This fascination extended into his passion for collecting coins. He enjoyed the history and stories held within each piece, finding something meaningful in the small details that others might overlook. He was also known for his wonderful sense of humor, spectacular storytelling and those who knew him will remember his ability to bring laughter and lightness into a room.

Above all, Brian loved his family and friends. He treasured the simple comforts of home, good conversation, laughter, and the companionship of his seven cats, who held a special place in his heart.

He leaves behind his wife, Andrea Joan (Wagner) Bazarnicki; his sons, Alexander Bazarnicki, Quentin Bazarnicki, and Brian Bazarnicki Jr.; of Gilsum, NH, and many extended family members and dear friends who will carry his memory with them.

Calling hours will be held Thursday, September 24th, 2026, beginning at 9:00 AM at Cheshire Family Funeral Home, 44 Maple Ave, Keene New Hampshire. Prayer service will begin at 11:00 AM, followed by Military Honors at 1:00pm.

Inurnment with military honors will take place at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery.
