Winifred Margaret Faulkner

Winifred “Winnie” Margaret Faulkner (Ringland), 91, a lifelong resident of Keene, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, while under the care of the Birches at Concord. Winnie was born in Keene on December 14, 1933, to the late Vera M. (Watkins) and Winfred W. Ringland. She was educated locally and graduated with the Keene High School class of 1952. On June 28, 1952, Winifred exchanged vows with the love of her life, Clarence “Clancy” Faulkner. They celebrated a simple service in Keene with family and friends, and were happily married for 70 years until Clarence passed away on December 5, 2022. Winnie enjoyed her 20 years working in the payroll department at American Optical. Following the closure of AO, Winnie performed oXice work for NGM Insurance and Keating Electric. Winnie loved spending time with her grandchildren and having them stay overnight during school vacations. She enjoyed reading, going for walks, and playing cards with family and friends. Winnie and Clancy were members of the North American Campers Association and Troy Seniors Club, participating regularly in the activities of both groups. Winnie was also a member of the Red Hat Society, and a volunteer helping to prepare luncheons for Home Health Care. Mrs. Faulkner is survived by her children Timothy Faulkner and his wife Kathi of Cuttingsville, Vermont; Carol Newcombe and her husband Tom of Nelson; and Laurie Howard and her husband Skip of Keene. She is also survived by her sisters Ruth Faulkner and Anne Driscoll, both of Keene. Mrs. Faulkner is also survived and by her nine grandchildren: Meghan Faulkner and her partner Brian Guggenheimer, Brady Faulkner and his partner Ashlee Stillwell; Hayley Talbot and her husband Seamus, Liana Paciorkowski and her husband Marty, Michayla Newcombe and her husband Kyle Ouellette, Ian Newcombe and his wife Mariya; Kyle Howard and his wife Jennifer, Kameron Howard and his wife Angela, and Keaton Howard; and by her nine great grandchildren: Julian, Emmy, Genevieve, Finn, Jack, Nataley, Rilynn, Oakley, and Eli. Along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Winnie was predeceased by her parents, her husband Clancy, her siblings Robert Ringland, William Ringland, and Sandra Paro, and her infant daughter Kathleen Faulkner. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of The Birches at Concord, Granite VNA, and Age at Home who helped with Winnie’s care. Calling hours will be from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Friday, May 30, 2025, at the Cheshire Family Funeral Chapel, 44 Maple Ave., Keene, NH. 03431. A private graveside service will take place in the family lot at Oak Hill Cemetery in West Swanzey. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Granite VNA, 30 Pillsbury St., Concord, NH 03301.
