Thomas Callahan

Thomas Joseph Callahan, 73, a resident of Troy, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 12, 2024. He was born a son to the late Ruth I. (Buckly) and John C. Callahan Sr. on December 15, 1950, in Brocton, MA. After the family moved to Troy, he attended Troy Elementary and graduated from Monadnock Regional High School class of 1968. Tom worked for Troy Mills in Troy and for New Hampshire Ball Bearing in Peterborough until he retired in 2015. Tom was the eighth of sixteen children. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He was very proud of his family. Tom loved traveling with family and friends. He always looked forward to vacations in Maine, St. Maartin, the Caribbean, Mexico and Central America. Tom enjoyed his time going bowling, playing cards, playing cribbage, and talking with anyone. Tom was a former member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Troy and Saint Margaret Mary Parish Church in Keene. Thomas Callahan is survived by his two children, Jennifer Callahan of Keene, and Joseph Callahan of Troy, ten siblings, Robert Callahan of Goffstown, Mary Remijan of Enfield, CT., Ann Southworth of Enfield, CT., Margaret Callahan of Louden, Jean Austin of Liverpool, NY., Ruth Saunders of Hockessin, DE., Rita Lane of West Swanzey, Rose Belisle of Concord, Caherine Zaricki of Goffstown, and Michael Callahan of Rye, and his best friend Denny Shackett of Troy. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, and his five siblings, Edward Callahan, John Callahan Jr, James Callahan, Gerald Callahan Sr, and Elizabeth Callahan. Calling hours will be from 6pm to 8pm on Thursday, July 11, 2024, in the Cheshire Family Funeral Home, 46 South Winchester St. Swanzey, NH. 03446. A traditional Catholic funeral mass will be at noon on Friday, July 12, 2024, at Saint Margaret Mary Parish Church,35 Arch St. Keene, NH. 03431.
