Peter E. Forcier

Peter E. Forcier, 83, of Keene died on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Baystate Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield, MA. Peter was the son of Clarence M. and Eleanor (Lane) Forcier. He was born on May 30, 1941. Peter attended schools in Keene and graduated from Keene High School in 1959. He received 8 scholarships but never attended college. Peter worked summers for Jim Mugford Construction and after graduating high school went to work for Kingsbury Machine Tool as a manufacturing engineer for over 30 years. He then worked for Monadnock Developmental Services for 8 years. Peter had many accomplishments in his life. He was awarded the citizenship award in Junior High. He was very active in sports in high school. Peter was married to Katherine J. Forcier for 25 years, Dolores H. Forcier for 11 years, and then married Joyce (Lussier-Roberts) in 1996. Peter was an all-state football player and was on the only undefeated team in the history of Keene High School for 1958-1959. He was a 1st place discus thrower and placed 2nd in the shot put to help the track team win the 1959 state championship. Peter is on the wall of honor at Keene High School. Peter was a member of the Allstate chorus and a head male soloist in the accouple choir. He was a skilled bowler and won many tournaments, scoring over 400 eight times. Peter was a member of many championship softball teams in Keene and coached many teams. He was the president of the Pop Warner Football team for 2 years. Peter enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards and most of all spending time with family and friends. Peter is survived by his wife, Joyce Forcier of Keene; his daughter, Jodi Turner and her husband, Dean of Swanzey; sons, Peter J. Forcier and his wife, Diane of East Swanzey, Stephen Forcier of Florida, and Jeffery Forcier and his wife, Sue of Bedford; step-sons, Michael Roberts, Randall Roberts, Larry Heath; step-daughters, Kathy Decoursey and Marsha Smith; his 12 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Robert Forcier and his wife, Bonnie, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his sister, Constance Forcier. A Calling Hour will be held on Friday, October 18, 2024, from 9:30am-10:30am at the Cheshire Family Funeral Chapel, 44 Maple Ave, Keene, NH. A Memorial Service will follow at 10:30am also at the funeral chapel. Pastor James Stemple, of Keene Assembly of God will be officiating the service.
