Jeffrey Allen Mulliken

Jeffrey Allen Mulliken, born October 14th, 1955, passed away on March 6th, 2025, after 69 years on this earth. Jeff was born in Grand Rapids, MI to Charles and Joan Mulliken. He was the second of three children; older brother Rick and younger sister Teresa. After graduating from Walt Whitman High School in 1973 he went on to work in the food, beverage and hospitality industries for more than 40 years. There, he was able to combine his love of food with his business acumen and passion for helping others into a successful career in procurement. In 1979 Jeff married Janet Marie Mulliken, fathering two sons Christopher Ryan and Patrick Michael. After Janet’s passing to leukemia in 1984 he remarried in 1986 to Anda Meierovics and in 1987 fathered a third son Corey Preston Meierovics Mulliken. The ‘three boys’ as he would affectionately refer to them are a tight knit crew and equally share his passions for love and life. Never one to shy away from an inappropriate joke at an inopportune time, Jeff would have found it very poignant to pass on at 69 years of age. He revelled in the wild tales of his youth, loves foregone, and (mis)adventures gone awry. Funny stories were always on tap including tales of Spam sweatshirts, ‘uno juevo’, the ‘fung-pi-low’ and many more. Eternally an intellectually curious person, Jeff was equally at home in professional and more humble settings. His greatest passions were found in nature, be that hunting, fishing, bird watching, farming … anything that brought him closer to the outdoors. Jeff was also a master craftsman in both mechanics and woodworking. Of his many great accomplishments, he built a Shelby Cobra kit car (aka the Mad Max roadster) and constructed multiple buildings / structures over the years. In 2017, Jeff retired and moved to Keene, NH. The property of his dreams, he lived the outdoors life in a log cabin affectionately referred to as ‘The Rabbit Hole’. Arguably the best years of his life, there he built strong relationships with the community, developed a deep connection to the surrounding wildlife and pursued many old/new hobbies including maple syrup production and motorcycle touring. As much as he hated cats, it’s safe to say Jeff had nine lives….and used them all. Through countless misadventures (including an infamous one with a rototiller), his unrelenting spirit and passion always prevailed. His life was a testament to how much living can be done in one lifetime. Best said in his own (and perhaps final) words, “no regrets…to all I have loved, I still do, and will. Always”. Jeff is survived by his three sons, brother, sister, father and countless other extended friends and family. Per Jeff’s wishes, his ashes have been spread at a private location where he will forever be at peace, in a place and with those people and passions most beloved to him. A celebration of life for those closest to him will be hosted (per his request ‘plenty of beverages and boisterous laughter’ included) at a future date to be scheduled.
