Gertrude Ridley

Gertrude "Trudy" M. Ridley of Swanzey, NH passed away on June 13, 2024 surrounded by her family. Trudy was born on June 28, 1935 in Winchester, NH to Edith and Earl Tatro. She was married to Edwin Ridley Jr. at the South Church in Winchester surrounded by friends and family on October 14, 1956. They were happily married for 67 years prior to his passing in 2023. Trudy worked at C.L. Lane Company in Swanzey, followed by a long career and retirement at Peerless Insurance in Keene. Much of the joy Trudy had in life was found with camping, specifically at her and Edwin's favorite campground Pastures Campground in Orford, NH. She also enjoyed quilting, baking, canning and painting. Trudy and Edwin took two trips to Alaska with their truck camper. She enjoyed caring for her husband and household. For those who knew Trudy, knew that she was never shy to speak her mind. She could be described as strong-willed, feisty and spicy and didn't have much of a filter! These traits made her loved by many and brought smiles and laughter to those around her. She always had the best intentions and truly cared for others. Trudy is survived by her two sons, Timothy Ridley and his wife Terri of Keene, Edwin E. Ridley III and his fiancee Diane of Fitzwitliam; her two grandchildren, Heidi Hurt of Swanzey, Kristen Supry and her husband Josh of Spofford; her two great-grandchildren, Zoie Supry and Hudson Hurt. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Trudy was pre-deceased by her parents, Edith and Earl Tatro, her husband, Edwin Ridley Jr., her daughter, Bonnie Bauer and her six siblings Glenn Tatro (her twin brother), Joanne Minor, Gerry Minor, Joyce Gregory, Robert Tatro and Earl Tatro Jr. We would like to thank the staff and associates of American House of Keene, N.H. for their excellent care of Trudy during her stay. A graveside service will be held on July 19, 2024 at noon in Mountain View Cemetery, 875 Old Homestead Highway Swanzey, NH. 03431. for family and those close to Trudy.
