Denise Ellen Woodman

Denise Ellen (Dittrich) Woodman, 65, a resident of Swanzey, passed away peacefully and quietly on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 while surrounded by the love of her family after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. She was born a daughter to the late Joan Ellen (Cote) and David L. Dittrich on December 4, 1959, in Brattleboro, VT. She grew up on Spofford Lake, attended Chesterfield School, and graduated from Keene High School with the Class of 1977. On July 12, 2014, Denise exchanged vows with Keith Arthur Woodman. They had a simple service at their home in Swanzey, with family and friends celebrating them. Denise enjoyed her time working for Peerless/Liberty Mutual, retiring in 2021 after 41 years. Along with working, Denise enjoyed spending her time horseback riding, snow skiing, kayaking, boating and water skiing. Denise had a love for history and enjoyed traveling and touring historical places, especially Colonial Williamsburg. Denise and her husband loved traveling to the Outer Banks in North Carolina, especially the Avon area, and spending time with their family. Denise firmly believed in the importance of giving back to the community, and did so by volunteering with Women’s Crisis Services, as an Usher for the Colonial Theater, and as a member of the Cheshire Fair Horse Show Association. She had a deeply ingrained Faith and was a member of The First Congregational Church of Swanzey. Mrs. Woodman is survived by her beloved husband, Keith Woodman of Swanzey, her children, Andrew D. Chase and wife, Elizabeth of Chapin, SC; Christopher O. Morse and wife, Tiffany of Virginia Beach, VA; and her stepdaughter, Lisa M. Baker and husband, Larsson of Langdon. She is also survived by her siblings, Blake D. Dittrich and wife, Wendy of Virginia Beach, VA; and Diana I. Menard and husband, Brian of Chichester. Along with her grandchildren, Liam, Ronan, Ryleigh, Remington, Imogen, Tanner, Miles and Sydney. Denise was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Bruce E. Dittrich. A memorial service will be held at 10am on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at the The First Congregational Church of Swanzey, 679 Old Homestead Hwy., Swanzey, NH. 03446.
