About
Cheshire Family Funeral Home
Director/Owner
P.M. Tristan McKenna was born and raised in
Scotland; his family emigrated to the United
States when he was a young boy. He has
served the death care industry since 1983.
He was first exposed to his vocation as a
U.S. Navy Corpsman assigned to the Fleet
Marine Force stationed with the 26th Marine
Amphibious Unit, 2nd Marine Division, Camp LeJeune
N.C. He attained the rank of 2nd class petty
officer prior to his honorable discharge
from enlisted service
following a military accident. Being with
the Marines was a fulfilling and memorable
time for him. He then became an apprentice
funeral director/embalmer and after four
years attended Mortuary College in Troy, New
York, graduating in 1996. Tristan is fully
licensed in New Hampshire and Vermont.
After working in and for funeral homes for
many years, he and his wife Lisa decided to
open a Crematory in Troy, NH. Lisa owns the
crematory and Tristan serves as Operations
Manager. Since the opening of the crematory
in 2001, Tristan has wanted to open a
funeral home and offer traditional as well
as cremation services to the people of
Cheshire County. The name Cheshire Family
Funeral Home speaks to the McKenna's desire
to reach and serve the many diverse members
of the community, reinforcing their
commitment to excellence and compassion as a
family owned and operated establishment. Our
services will be designed on a per case
basis, to meet the needs of the individual
families. With the needs of individuals and
families changing regarding death care,
diversity and selection are paramount.
Tristan believes in an open, honest
structure of business and communication,
allowing a la carte decision making and
pricing. He truly believes this model
creates novelty and exceptional service
opportunities for each family he serves.
